My assigned teacher is Clare Brimer, who teaches World History and AP Psych at FWBHS. I worked with her 2nd period World History and 3rd period AP Psych today. She's really nice...and young! I think she said she was 30! In my mind, that makes her a good role model for me...she's I'm gonna be a young teacher also. She likes to use as many visuals in her class as possible, and looks down on "couch history teachers" that just use an overhead and lecture on and on... I like that about her!

World History was fun - she was introducing them to the founding of Rome myth today... I'm really happy that I get to work in a World History class because this really is what I want to teach! I love this stuff!!

Psych was kinda boring today - they had a test all period, so it was just silence, lol... it gave me time to observe the classroom environment tho, which was nice... normally I'd stay for her 4th period Psych class also, but they're having a test today too, so she suggested I go ahead and leave early today

Mrs. Brimer let me enter some grades into Pinnacle - she even got me to grade a worksheet that 2nd period did in class (it was a simply "give them points for doing each thing" not accuracy)... so that was interesting. She's gonna let me create a lesson plan or two...she's also going to see if she can arrange with a colleague friend of hers who teaches AP World History to let me sit in her class occasionally

I think I'm really gonna enjoy working with her and in her classrooms... Definitely gonna take in mind some of the things I see in there whenever I start teaching

Room Layout Tool

It's one of the very few free programs that let you customize the measurements of each piece of furniture...and it's not a download! Bad side - the Print option doesn't really work with Firefox, at least not for me. But otherwise, it worked awesomely!!!

Nightwish concert is coming up - w00tness!!! Liz is (has?) bought a ticket so Wookie is joining up - yay! We'll be taking Jeremy's car, heading up there early (buttearly) Saturday the 17th morning, stopping by my sister's in Columbus to eat lunch & look at some stuff she might have for Liz & my apartment, continuing to her empty condo in Decatur, unloading stuff, heading to find parking near the venue, eating blah blah blah until the concert starts, then having an FRAKKING AWESOME TIME!!! Then sleeping at the condo, getting up early Sunday morning, going over to IKEA to do some "window" shopping at furniture, etc for the aforementioned apartment, then continuing our merry way back to FWB.
Other great news - I'll be staying back home the ENTIRE week following the concert until the Sunday after Thanksgiving!! Yay!!

Sunday (night) December 2nd is the Sounds of the Season concert here at UF - the Women's Chorale (which I'm a part of) will be performing... so far NO ONE I know will be there (my parent's were like "That's a Sunday night, so no way we can come... show us a recording sometime" and I have no faith that Jeremy can get off work). The concert is going to be awesome - Men's Glee, Women's Chorale, and University Chorale will all be performing (I think) and it will be followed by carols & a candlelight procession to the Reitz Union where a tree lighting will take place.... If ANYONE wants to come... please please please do!! You can stay at my apartment (granted, on my floor or couch) and I'll see what I can do about paying your way to the concert (probably no more than $10)... I'd really like to have someone in the audience that I know...

I graduate in just over a month... holy crap... and I'm really nervous about the job... I emailed Erica (the lady that interviewed me at PTA) telling her that I do definitely want the job & asking about detail stuff (pay, how many hours, benefits, etc) but she hasn't replied again... I just tried sending her the email again (because it wasn't showing up in my Sent Mail folder, so I figured accidentally sending it twice [with a short apology at the top] was better than not sending it at all, lol)

Oh - so this Wednesday, the UF Alumni Association is treating seniors to lunch at the Swamp Restaurant, hell yeah!! Free food!!

And on that note... when I graduate, the UFAA will give me a rebate to get the UF license plate (and I plan on getting it)... I want to get a personalized tag, but am having problems thinking what I want to go with... so here's the ones I was thinking up so far (and I've checked them all & they're all available) - it has to be 5 letters for the UF tag:
PYRKT, UFKTY, UFMEW, RBYGL

What should I get put on my license plate?
PYRKT
UFKTY
UFMEW
RBYGL

OK - sooo I talked to Mom today and she said that her & Dad are going to be getting a hotel room for the Friday night, which means that my friends can stay in my apartment - so, don't worry about having to pay for a room!!

They want me to get all my stuff packed (as in ALL but what I absolutely need to keep unpacked) the week prior to graduation... They'll get here Friday morning probably, go take the mandatory pictures all about, load up most of my crap, go out to dinner, go to graduation Saturday morning, and pretty much leave right afterwards. Then I'll load the rest of my stuff (which hopefully won't be too much) and leave probably Sunday morning/afternoon.

I was looking up hotel info:

Travelodge is on Williston Rd - right down the street from my apartment Travelodge site

1 room for 1 night is $79 and that can be split by a max of 4 per room. It's right off the exit, near my place, and out of where most of the traffic of Gainesville will be -- and hopefully people won't fill it up fast because it's not one of the closest hotels to campus (its 5min away instead of right next to). If y'all want to only book the room for Friday night - check out is by 11am on Saturday, which means you'll have to pack all you stuff and check out BEFORE the ceremony at 9:30
- just as a note... For those that can stay until Sunday, you can - but be warned you might get roped into helping with that whole packing/moving this, lol
AND if you want to see me before the ceremony, I have to be there by 8:30am - this is also when I recommend y'all getting there cuz parents' will probably start filling seats up then... I suggest you find my parents/family and sit in the same general area - they won't bite, I swear. I told them I'll be having friends come to graduation.

I'll hopefully be ordering my announcements this upcoming week - my plan is to first set aside enough for my family & friends-familys (aka Knochenmus' instead of just Sunny) and then depending on how many I have left over, sending individual ones to Sunny, Liz, Ryan, Jeremy, etc

Sorry... Recently (ever since I got my confirmation of application for degree) I've been on this big graduation thing... getting my announcements designed, trying to figure out who'll be there, etc... sooo... this might not be the last you hear about it

OH! And if you'd like to receive an announcement - please comment/email/message me and let me know -- I just know I'm gonna forget people... I'll probably go through my Facebook/MySpace/LJ friends lists and be like "you...you...you" heh then send messages to get your address - I'll kinda need that, lol

Sunny and I have decided that when we are apart our hearts rain inside. Therefore to add more sunshine to our lives, we are going to get a domestic partnership. We already discussed kids, finances, etc. So all that is left is the paperwork. YAY!

I think if we're both not well on our way to the altar when she turns 25, this will become a serious option, lol.
We're gonna each have a baby - and choose the fathers wisely without their knowledge, lol. We'll take turns baby sitting if we have dates/"visitors," but once a month we'll hire someone so we can have a girls' night out. Obviously, it'll be an "open marriage." We're gonna each pay for our own car. One is going to do car insurance and one is going to do savings. We'll use whoever's job has the best health insurance. We'll split rent/house half & half. One will pay electric, the other will pay water & gas, one will pay TV cable & the other will pay internet. Each will have individual bank accounts, but we'll also have a joint account.

Oh! And we decided we'd live down here Sept-May and then up in New England June-August. And we'd rent out our places the times of the year we're not living there, lol
